Stronghold Promotion Management Guide

1. Introduction to Promotions

Promotions can help bring in new customers and encourage repeat business. Stronghold allows merchants to run and manage a variety of promotions through our platform.

2. Promotion Features Explained

When creating a Promotion on Stronghold, you can customize several features:

  • Credit Amount: Set how much will be deducted from the total purchase.
  • Minimum Charge Amount: Specify the least purchase amount to qualify for the promotion.
  • Immediate Use: Decide if customers can use the promotion instantly or in future transactions.
  • First Purchase Only: Restrict the promotion to customers paying with Stronghold for the first time.
  • Single Use: Determine if the promotion can be used once or multiple times by the same customer.

3. Setting Up a Promotion

For a hassle-free setup:

  1. Draft the specifics of your promotion.
  2. Contact our team by emailing [email protected].
  3. Await confirmation and further instructions.

4. Customer Experience

This support page is based on the Stronghold standard promotion experience. The exact customer experience may vary depending on your ecommerce system.

Stronghold Checkout

Customers will see a "Credit Amount" line during checkout that displays their promotional savings. This visibility applies to any Stronghold-controlled checkout experience including Stronghold Checkout, Paylinks, SH Direct, and Portal.

Embedded Checkout

Using Stronghold's embedded option? The display of the "Credit Amount" can vary based on your ecommerce platform. While it might not always be visible directly on the checkout page, it will be presented within the Stronghold Pay dropin at the final confirmation step.

5. Tracking Your Promotions

Access the dashboard to gain insights and overview your promotional campaigns:

Promotions Tab

View all your promotions. Click "View" next to each promotion for in-depth metrics.


Access details of applied promotions and credits for every transaction.


The "Promotional Credits" section provides insights into individual customer promotion activities.


The "Activity Details Report" and "Settlement Details Report" both include promotions. They can be found under the "Reports" tab in the dashboard. More information can be found on our Payment Reconciliation support page.
