SHx has expanded into the Solana ecosystem marking the latest step in Stronghold's multi-chain infrastructure strategy. This expansion is powered by Axelar and Squid Router, the same trusted partners that have supported every SHx bridge deployment since day one.
On the surface, this is a cross-chain integration. In practice, it represents something much bigger: expanding where SHx can move, where liquidity can participate, and where future blockchain infrastructure is actively growing.
For years, blockchain ecosystems operated in silos. Assets stayed confined to individual chains, liquidity fragmented across networks, and users were forced to navigate disconnected experiences just to move value across ecosystems.
That model is starting to change.
The future of blockchain infrastructure is interoperability where assets, applications, and users can move more freely between networks. This is the direction SHx continues to move toward.
Why Solana
Solana has become one of the most active consumer blockchain ecosystems in crypto today. Its infrastructure was built around speed, accessibility, and high-frequency on-chain activity:
- Low transaction fees
- Mobile-first wallet experiences
- A rapidly growing developer ecosystem
For SHx holders, this expansion creates access to an ecosystem where users already trade, build, and move liquidity at scale. It is not about abandoning enterprise infrastructure or regulated financial applications because XRPL and institutional-focused ecosystems remain a core part of the long-term vision for SHx. Consumer blockchain adoption is evolving quickly, and Solana has positioned itself at the center of that momentum.
And by expanding into Solana, SHx gains exposure to:
- New users
- New liquidity environments
- Faster consumer-facing experiences
- Broader cross-chain participation
The goal is simple: make SHx more accessible wherever blockchain activity continues to grow.
Powered by Axelar + Squid
Axelar and Squid Router are what make this expansion possible. They're the same interoperability foundation Stronghold has built on since the first SHx bridge from Stellar to Ethereum.
Axelar handles the cross-chain infrastructure layer, while Squid Router simplifies how users actually move assets between networks. Because this architecture was designed to extend across ecosystems rather than rebuild for each one, bringing SHx to Solana was a natural next step.
The result is a more seamless bridging experience with less friction, fewer interfaces to navigate, and more freedom to move SHx wherever blockchain activity is growing.
More ecosystems. More accessibility. More utility.
Best Practices
Before bridging, we recommend reading this guide in its entirety and starting with a small test transaction before moving larger amounts.
For the best experience:
- Use a PC or desktop device when completing the bridge
- We recommend using MetaMask for the most familiar and straightforward experience
- If bridging to Solana, install your preferred wallet's browser extension (such as Phantom) before starting so it appears as a selectable wallet in Squid
- Verify that your wallet is supported by and can successfully connect to Squid Router before initiating a transaction
- Ensure you have enough native gas tokens on both the source and destination networks to complete the transaction
- Double-check wallet addresses before confirming any transaction
- Start with a small test transaction before moving larger amounts of SHx
Additional Notes
- There may be a delay before bridged funds appear in your destination wallet
- Settlement times vary depending on network conditions and bridge activity. While many transfers complete within minutes, Ethereum and Solana routes may occasionally take 2 to 4 hours or longer
- If a transaction appears stuck, you can use the AxelarScan transaction link to contact Axelar Support for assistance
- Some users may experience wallet connection issues with LOBSTR. If this occurs, try reconnecting your wallet or using the browser extension, as demonstrated in the tutorial
- Wallet compatibility and connectivity are managed by Squid Router and supported wallet providers
- If you encounter wallet connection issues, unsupported wallet errors, or other bridge-related technical issues, you may need to contact Squid Support directly for assistance
