We’re expanding fast, and we’re seeking motivated team players who can grow with our company. We’re currently looking for a Head of Talent to help define and amplify the Stronghold story.

Stronghold’s Head of Talent will lead our recruiting strategy and our general HR strategy to ensure that we can build and support a talented team. This role is a leadership role but we're just getting started so you'll start as a team of one. You'll be hands-on executing the playbook that you build. As our business grows, we will look to you to help determine how we grow our team.


What You’ll Do

  • Design and lead the delivery of Stronghold’s people practices including talent assessment and planning, organization design and development, performance management, and culture development.
  • Manage the full life-cycle of sourcing, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and team-building processes
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand their team needs and guide the hiring managers to think strategically about talent management and talent needs that will us meet our company goals
  • Own our HR strategy and playbooks so that we maintain a top employee and candidate experience
  • Provide data and reports on candidate pipeline, hiring process, and time to hire.
  • Provide data and reports on employee satisfaction and growth potential
  • Provide expertise in the following areas: performance management, career planning, coaching, compensation and rewards, employee relations, recognition programs, and strategic development.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.


Who You Are

  • 3+ years experience in recruiting and in HR more generally at our current size/stage to help us grow from 20 people to a larger company to fulfill our mission
  • Comfortable as a Team of One in our current stage with an ability to grow with the company
  • Proven ability to identify and recruit talent for all levels across disciplines
  • Experienced with ATS and able to make spreadsheets or systems easy to use for hiring managers
  • Able to tell our story and mission in a compelling way to candidates
  • Domain experience in payments of FinTech is preferred but not required
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with outside employment counsel as needed
  • A healthy dose of empathy and humor
